The Ultimate DIY Facial Mask

Arriving in Los Angeles after spending three amazing months in Thailand was not only a shock for me, but also for my skin. LA feels like a dry desert in comparison to the humidity I had been walking around in every day. Not one to normally have skin issues thanks to the way I generally take care of myself, I stuck to my regular skin regime in hopes that everything would clear up on its own. Nope. Luckily, I wasΒ editing a chapter in my book today that reminded of a mask that would help my skin adjust. Thank God for the magic of bentonite clay and apple cider vinegar!

Five reasons to use this magic combo on your face:

  1. Balances the PH of your skin, returning it to it’s natural, slightly acidic state
  2. Pulls out free radicals, toxic metals, and other impurities including radiation
  3. Tightens and tones your skin
  4. Unclogs your pores while also tightening them
  5. Won’tΒ dry out your skin out like a lot deep cleansing methods

IMG__Clay_mask.jpgThere are not many ways to rid your skin of things like heavy toxic metals and radiation, but this clay works because it contains ions that are negatively charged. These ions bind with positively charged ions (which is basically the bad stuff) and literally sucks them out of your beautiful face. You can also use it on the bottoms of your feet to cleanse your body or any other part of your skin. The best part is, the preparation to make it takes a matter of seconds. Just mix the clay with apple cider vinegar at a ratio of 1:1. It will make a thick paste that you can then apply, leaving it on for 10-20 minutes. And voila – you just got younger.
